The botanical gardens are easily accessible for wheelchair users and others with limited mobility. Ringve is an old country estate, and it is not possible to visit all parts of the museum with a wheelchair. Below is an overview of our accessibility.
The main building: The ground floor of the main building has no stairs. However, some of the museums thresholds are up to 5 cm high, and therefore complicate the use of a wheelchair. If the wheelchair is manual and not wider than 82 cm, it is possible to participate in the first part of the musical guided tour. Because the main building is old and the materials are fragile, we cannot allow the use of electric wheelchairs in the main building. Use of a walker and other support is allowed. Folding chairs are available to all.
The exhibition in the barn: One flight of stairs to the first floor. An elevator will be available spring 2013.
Botanical Garden: Easily accessible.
Tordenskiold café: Accessible with a ramp.
Shop: One flight of stairs (2012). The shop will back on the ground floor, and easily accessible in 2013.
