Visit Ringve Music Museum

Ringve Music Museum is Norway’s national music museum with a collection of over 2000 instruments from all over the world.

The museum is seated on an old country estate just outside Trondheim’s city centre, and is surrounded by the beautiful Ringve Botanical Garden.

WINTER SEASON: from August 2023 to June 2024
Tuesday – Sunday: 11 am – 4 pm
Monday closed

SUMMER SEASON: June - August 2024
Monday – Sunday: 10 am – 5 pm

Tickets

Adult: NOK 170,-​

Student/senior: NOK 150,-

Children 0-15: Free admission if accompanied by paying adults.

Combination ticket Ringve + Rockheim: NOK 230,-
If you buy a combination ticket, you can visit both Ringve Musikkmuseum and Rockheim on the same day.

Getting there

By bus: 
Bus number 2  from the city centre (bus stop: Ingemann Torps vei or Lade idrettsanlegg)
Bus number 20 from the city centre (bus stop: Ringve Museum or Jørgen B. Lysholms vei)

By car: Follow the road signs from E6 or the city centre.

Wheelchair accessibility

Ringve is an old country estate, and it is not possible to visit all parts of the museum with a wheelchair. Below is an overview of the accessability in our various locations:

The Main Building: Ground floor accessable with guide.

The Exhibition Soundtracks: Accessible by elevator.

Temporary exhibitions in Kjeldsbergsalen: Ground floor, easily accessable.

Café Victoria: Accessible with elevator.

Gift Shop: Ground floor, easily accessible.

Ringve Botanical Garden: Easily accessible with pathways between the various gardens.
