Professional profile Sveinung Søyland Moen

Sveinung Søyland Moen holds a master's degree in Traditional arts with a specialization in Folk music. Since 2013, he has worked in the museum sector, and from 2021, he has been at the music museums Ringve and Rockheim, where he works in collections management and research. His academic interests include the study of musical instruments (organology), Norwegian and international folk music (especially Latin American), religious music, blues, and more. From 2014 to 2024, he was on the board of Norsk folkemusikklag (ICTMD Norway), including serving as the editor for the scientific journal Musikk og tradisjon (2014–2019). Since 2022, he has been on the board of the Norwegian langeleik forum. As a hobby musician, he plays the two-row accordion, one-row accordion, guitar, willow flute, langeleik, and more. He also has practical skills from courses in the construction and repair of accordions.
